A major APAC-based entertainment organization needed a structured way to manage project-based risks within IBM OpenPages. Its existing Non-Financial Risk (NFR) assessments were centered on process and risk objects, leaving project governance fragmented across multiple Excel files. As project activity expanded, the PMO required a dedicated framework to capture project-specific risks, align controls, and report them consistently across business lines.
SureStep designed and implemented a new OpenPages object model to enable project-level governance, connecting projects, risk assessments, and control libraries within a cohesive hierarchy. The team developed an intuitive user interface tailored for the PMO risk function, configured relationships and workflows to align with project lifecycles, and integrated reporting with IBM Cognos for executive visibility. All configurations were fully documented, empowering the internal team to deploy and maintain the solution independently.
Key Results and Highlights:
- Introduced a new project governance structure within IBM OpenPages
- Replaced disconnected Excel tracking with centralized project risk assessments
- Enabled business line reporting integration through IBM Cognos
- Improved visibility and consistency in project risk management
- Delivered a self-sustaining configuration framework with detailed deployment documentation
The result was a scalable, transparent approach to project risk management that aligned operational projects with the organization’s enterprise risk strategy.
